Results of Pitch, Hit and Run Competition


The Seward Optimist Club hosted the annual Scotts Major League Baseball Pitch, Hit and Run at the Plum Creek Sports Complex in Seward, on April 15, 2019. Sixteen youth in the Pitch, Hit, and Run competition will be eligible to compete in the Sectional Competition held May 4, 2019, at the Optimist Youth Sports Complex at 5300 S Folsom, Lincoln, NE.  Youth were eligible to place in the Pitch, the Run, and the Hit Competitions, along with an All Around Champion (Total score in all three competitions)

SOFTBALL: AGE 7/8: Khloe Bogenrief – All-Around Champion, Pitch, Run; AGE 9/10: Kalveyn Hendrix – All-Around Champion, Pitch, Hit, Run; AGE 11/12: Izebela Herring – All-Around Champion, Pitch;  Madison Green – Hit, Run.

BASEBALL: AGE 7/8: Tanner Loos – All-Around Champion, Pitch, Hit; Austin Rodocker – Pitch;  Brayden Jorgensen – Run. AGE 9/10: Kolten Green – All-Around Champion, Pitch, Run; Everhett Schluckebier – Hit.  AGE 11/12: Devin Slawnyk – All-Around Champion, Pitch; Cooper Hill – Pitch; Kyle Riley – Run; Riley Calway – Hit; Jacob Paulsen – Pitch. AGE 13/14: Dakota Thomas – All-Around Champion, Pitch, Hit, Run; Carl Taylor – Pitch.

Those who chose to attend the sectional competed in all three events and top scores were eligible to advance to one of thirty Major League Baseball ballparks for the Regional Competition conducted throughout weekends in June, with the top youngsters competing at the final level for the National Championship during 2019 MLB All-Star Week in Cleveland, Ohio.  

All participants and youth volunteers helping with the contests were given Dairy Queen certificates. Thanks to all who participated. YOU ARE ALL WINNERS!
