Pitch, Hit and Run


The Seward Optimist Club hosted the annual Scotts Major League Baseball Pitch, Hit and Run at the Plum Creek Sports Complex in Seward, on April 16, 2018. Thirteen youth in the Pitch, Hit, and Run competition will be eligible to compete in the Sectional Competition to be held on May 12, 2018, at the Optimist Youth Sports Complex at 5300 S Folsom, Lincoln, NE with registration beginning at 9:00 am and competition at 9:30 am. Youth were eligible to place in the Pitch, the Run, and the Hit Competitions, along with an All Around Champion (Total score in all three competitions)

SOFTBALL: AGE 7/8: Tayla Hass – All-Around Champion, Pitch, Run; AGE 9/10: Danielle Pallat – All-Around Champion, Pitch, Hit, Run; AGE 11/12: Madison Green – All-Around Champion, Pitch, Hit, Run.

BASEBALL: AGE 7/8: Austin Rodocker – All-Around Champion, Pitch, Run; Tanner Loos – Hit; AGE 9/10: Kolten Green – All-Around Champion, Pitch; Brycen Burt – Hit; Kyle Riley – Run; AGE 11/12: Carl Taylor – All-Around Champion, Hit, Run; Kolton Loos – Pitch; AGE 13/14: Andrew Marshall – All-Around Champion, Pitch; Malachi Lyon – Hit; Dalton Burt – Run. Those who choose to attend the sectional will again compete in all three events and are eligible to advance to one of thirty Major League Baseball ballparks for the Regional Competition conducted throughout weekends in June, with the top youngsters competing at the final level for the National Championship during 2018 MLB All-Star Week in Washington DC. All participants and youth volunteers helping with the contests were given Dairy Queen certificates.
